In another fascinating event, the season-ending NJSBCL 8 x 8 tournament was emphatically won by NJ Stars. They beat Jersey Cubs in the final to win the Cup.
Jersey Cubs won the toss, elected to bat and posted 75. NJ Stars chased it down with 4 wickets down and 1 over to go.
The highlight of the final was excellent batting by Hassan (about 35) and Farhan (about 22) from NJ Stars and great overall bowling by the NJ Stars bowlers - Junaid, Vijay, Abbas and Rizwan.
In the semi-final, NJ Stars got the better of New Bridge. New Bridge won the toss and elected to bowl on a chilly morning with damp outfield.
NJ Stars posted 116 losing 3 wickets. In reply, New Bridge were all out for about 56, letting NJ Stars win the match by about 60 runs.
Highlight was Rizwan's excellent 50 batting as an opener and Hassan's enterprising 30.
All NJ Stars bowlers again bowled really well, lead by Vijay (3 wickets) and Junaid.

Tournament Report
The Team "Pirates" was formed exclusively for this tournament with bunch of cricket lovers who wanted to play a very competitive cricket.
On the very hot day where a temperature touches 100 F, Pirates took the field against Newport. Newport is the team which specialized for 8 overs tournament; they have an excellent history on the short format of the game. Naren and Jigar bowled exceptionally well to restrict Newport 15 runs in first 4 overs. Pirates are well under control until Praveen came to the crease. His sublime touch was proved yet again where he took the Pirates bowler, he batted like a champ and scored runs in all distant corners of the ground. In the span of two overs the situation turned differently where pirates sent to backfoot for the first time in the tournament. Pirates keeper [Susi] missed an opportunity to take the catch and Praveen cached those opportunities. Jagan and Manish, the most economical bowler came back very strongly to bowl the last two overs to restrict them for 75 runs. At one stage with Praveen Presence 100 runs looks very much possible.
For the first time Pirates had a plan B, Pirates went to bat with their regular openers Rimal and Jitesh. Rimal, he doesn't need any introduction as he is popular in the league for shorter version game. Jitesh was in exemplary touch from the beginning of this tournament with few big scores (20, 28, 67 not out) on his name. Rimal did little trouble to the scorer and newport team, and that brings Mitesh. Mitesh joined pirates just a day before the season starts. Mitesh and Jitesh needs to complement each other for the partnership they made in the previous games. Once again their partnership proved very vital to the team victory. If their batting would have been taped then it would be the hottest property in the NJSBCL league. Mitesh batting style would really make us to remember few international stylish cricketers. Jitesh played a well controlled innings and showed his aggression as and when needed. Both batsmen cannot be punished for violating the boundaries which they did very often. In the end either scorching heat or opponent couldn't stop super cool jitesh and mitesh. Pirates won game by just loosing one wicket and were ready to the meet the other finalist Aryans.
On the Final game against Aryans, Pirates made one change. Susi was replaced by Deepak, yet another star of Pirates.
Aryans won the toss and elected to bat first. Aryans had very great reputation in scoring and chasing big scores, in the QF they scored humongous 117 and they tried to repeat the same thing. Girish Gowda Aryans Captain showed his intent in scoring glorious shot to clear the boundary of first ball of the innings bowled by Jigar.Very next delivery Jigar had a great comeback by bowling perfect block hole to get the Aryan skipper bowled. Then the wicket taking horse Jagan got introduced, Aryan batsman scored two boundaries in Jagan's first four deliveries but the game seemed up for Pirates when Jagan took two wickets in the next two deliveries of his first over.
From then Pirates took the complete control on the game. Aryans batsmen showed intermittent threat by hitting two towering sixes, but yet again Naren got two wickets in two balls. Aryans tailender successfully negotiated Naren's and Jagan's hattrick. In the end of the first innings Aryans challenged the opposition with 49 runs to win.
Rimal started his innings with six and made quick 21(6 * 3) in 7 balls and chased 49 runs without any pressure. Pirates remain undefeated to win the 8 overs Title.
Special Mention on Manish on his brilliance with the Ball, he remain stand out bowler against the batsmen dominated game, throughout the tournament he is remarkably had accurate line and length, he is been great instrumental in Pirates success.
